Some people see redundancy as a tragedy. With the world as it is right now in 2020, and Covid-19 still at large, there are thousands of people being made redundant and losing their jobs and businesses. I believe everything happens for a reason, good or bad. When I look back to October 2017, when I was made redundant for the 3rd time in my life, I felt sorrow for leaving the security of an employed job I had done for 5 years. Now job security by being employed by someone else, is a tragic joke!
But I wasn’t sorry to walk away from a colleague who bullied me, for about 4 of those 5 years. I wasn’t sorry, to stop clock watching as I worked on a concession and it would be damn quiet sometimes. I wasn’t sorry to leave that robotic life behind, in place of one that had the potential to see me live a life of freedom and of my dreams.
You see, I truly believe I am born for a higher purpose, rather than the 10am-6pm hours I would need to wait, until it was home time, and I could get on with my writing and my social media posting, and build my lasting legacy. Now I know, God made me redundant earlier than others, so I could get a head start and fulfil my dreams quicker. I could learn the skills needed to make my life soar to new heights and I could have the relief of being able to do this from the comfort of my own home, from towards the end of October 2017, onwards. Rather than having to wait until now. Was it easy – no! Is it easy now! No. But it’s easier. Now I know what I’m doing. Now I have the roadmap. Now I have so many skills I never had before.
Now I am an Author and Asexual Coach. I write and publish books that change people’s lives. I am an expert in asexuality – a sexual orientation that is the lack of sexual attraction. And recently opportunity knocked on my door.
You see, I didn’t believe it, when they said people will come to you when you are seen as an expert – I thought it was crap and all about you hustling and grinding it out, and you having to make all the first moves. But I am so pleased I was wrong about that. I have had people invite me to be on their podcasts and taken them up on their opportunity. And so pleased that almost 5 years after I started helping asexuals, I was recently asked to be on a show about sexuality misconceptions, with Diane Délina, ADHD/Sexuality Coach.
When Diane approached me, to ask to interview me on her sexuality misconceptions show. I jumped at the chance. Any opportunity to raise awareness for my very specialist topic – asexuality, is a dream come true. Watch the video now, here https://youtu.be/OBBvHyR2QKw, to find out what was discussed! I think you will be surprised! Don’t forget to subscribe if you want to know more about asexuality. www.youtube.com/asexualisemyasexuallife
