P>S> Stay Quirky xx And write soon – on a T Shirt if you need to!! Now, I bet you did not think of designing T Shirts as writing on a cloth canvas – did you?? But it is!! Enjoy!!
It has been a while since I posted on here. Apologies for being away so long. I have been incredibly busy working on my Break through the barriers of redundancy book and working hard on promoting it, before it is published and available on Amazon. It should be published by the end of May.
I recently attended the Business Showcase South West, in Bristol, on the 8th of April. Which was a fantastic networking opportunity.
One of the keynote speakers was Author Brad Burton, who owns 4Networking and has been branded as the UK’s number one motivational business speaker.
If you are thinking of starting your own business, Brad said in order to succeed in business, you need to have 3 things.
1 An idea
3 Belief (that it will work)
He said that you need to have a why.
In other words, you need to know what business you want to start and why? Why that particular idea for a business? You need to know how you forsee your idea becoming a reality and why you believe it will work.
Whether you are thinking of starting your own business, or you have already begun, I want you to think about – What is your why?
If you are not interested in starting your own business but you are looking for work, I want you to consider why you are looking for certain types of jobs. What are the pros and the cons? What other opportunities are there? Why are you wanting to work for a particular company? What’s in it for you?
When you know your why, you can begin to think of your how. With vision and belief, anything is possible.
I am fortunate enough to be connected to Brad Burton through social media, I follow him and he reciprocates. He has a humongous following but follows only a selected few back. That’s what I mean by anything is possible, you just have to know why and believe.
Until next time, stay positive.

I am still working on the final edit of my book and it is taking longer than I expected, but it will be worth the wait.
After a short break, I am working back in my day job again, and I start teaching Blogging as an aid to recovery on Monday 24th of February. I had planned to publish my book in February, depending on how long it took to edit it to a standard that I am happy with. Although I have people waiting to buy my book, I won’t compromise on quality, and I know they wouldn’t want me to. It looks likely I will publish it in March rather than February.
I now own the copyright of the book cover illustration and design, although credit still goes to my illustrator Victoria Warby for creating it. I think she has done a fantastic job.
Please note that the entire book cover is copyrighted and will be revealed in the future – For now, I can exclusively reveal the Book Blurb.

Coming soon to Amazon: My new book – Break Through The Barriers Of Redundancy To Get Back Into Work: – An A-Z ‘How to’ guide.
I am pleased to say that a link to my website http://www.beatredundancyblues.com has been added to http://thefilmorecv.co.uk/job-search-sites.php site, that is the sister site to http://www.jobmanji.com.
I would love to have your feedback on the blurb.
Always remember, your writing dreams can come true, if you work hard and believe in your abilities as a writer.

As you may know, I enjoy writing and I am currently working on my first e-Book about breaking through the barriers of redundancy, to help people who are redundant to get back into work. It will also be useful to jobseekers.
On my writing blog http://www.quirkybooks.wordpress.com I have recently gained more followers and more recognition through being nominated for several blog awards. I was happy to make my nominations to other well deserving bloggers and was absolutely thrilled when one of then did a blog about myself, making references to my writing and my redundancy help.
You can view her blog post about me here:
I am grateful that I am in a position to help others.

quirkybooks’ latest competition to win a signed copy of Rochelle Melander’s Write-A-Thon, was a close contest, with many people trying several ways to win.
I am pleased to announce that Casey Jo Roach is the winner of the signed copy of Write-A-Thon. Congratulations Casey.
Thanks to everyone who entered and made the competition a great success.
For this competition I asked the question: “If you could buy any self-help book, what topic would you choose and why?”
Amongst the answers were books about:
- How to write well
- Writing resources
- Writing an interesting Novel
- How to write a novel quickly
- Getting published
- Overcoming Depression
I thought it was remarkably interesting that two main categories shone through: Writing and Health and Well-being. I often write about writing on my http://www.quirkybooks.wordpress.com blog and will be covering more of health and wellbeing on my new beatredundancyblues.com website. Including Depression, Anxiety and stress. So watch this future space!
If you could buy any self-help book, what would it be? Please leave a comment below.
